Hello, I like how Photo Gallery works, but I’m wondering what happens to all the images if I deactivate the plugin? Are they saved in a folder I can still access, or are they deleted?

Also, I was looking for the documentation for the plugin, as mentioned in the pinned comment at the top of the support forum, but the link is dead. Is there any documentation or help manual for the plugin?

    Hello @harryllama2 ,

Regarding the images, if they are added to the media library of the website, then imported to the gallery via the plugin, they will stay as before even if you deactivate/remove the plugin.

As for the documentation, please feel free to check this help center page dedicated to Photo Gallery articles.

    Best Regards,
    Yasin

Thank you for the response, but you didn’t quite answer my question. What happens to the images that I add directly to the plugin, not through the website media library? Where are these images stored? In a folder on the website? What is the address?

And thank you for the link to the help files. Perhaps you can?add this to the pinned note at the top of the help forum.

If you upload photos using the PhotoGallery file manager, appropriate directories are created in the path: your domain/wp-content/uploads/photo-gallery/* and the images are saved. If you just deactivate PhotoGallery, everything will be retained and can be reused immediately after activation.

The shortcodes for the galleries only work if PhotoGallery is activated. If PhotoGallery is deactivated, visitors to your website cannot see any images.
