    Hello

    I would like to know what happens to the user’s role when their membership expires or cancels – NOT if they downgrade manually. ARMember allocates a user role that we can specify (for example, Author) to people when they register for a specific level. I would like to have them lose this role automatically and gain a different role (eg Subscriber) when their subscription expires. From what I understand, downgrading is an optional setting in the membership plan settings, so I guess users will have to downgrade manually. I want the downgrade to be automatic, and if possible have different users downgrade to different roles automatically, eg Premium Role 1 downgrades to Normal Role 1 and Premium Role 2 downgrades to Normal Role 2.

    For cancelling their subscription, I see there is an option to allow them to continue to use their subscription until it expires, so I would also like to ask this question for this scenario too.

  • For that 2nd question it did not work for me. After canceling the membership they can still use their subscription until it expires but they are unable to renew this membership. Once it expires you have to delete them manually or assign to kind of “Free Plan”. If they want to subscribe again they have to register again. This is very inconvenient and I think it is a bug which should be solved in upcoming updates.

    Regarding the option to let the users use the subscription rights until it expires – I mean this is a function in the back end that you can purchase as an add-on, it’s called Pro Rata, you can see it here.

    Hello,

    ARMember does follow the WordPress standards and accordingly syncs with the WordPress users and their role.

    The role will be assigned to the member which you have added at the ARMember Lite Plan creation, and also the member will have the role which you have set at the Admin Panel -> General Settings -> New user default role.

    So once the plan expires then the role which is assigned through the plan will also be removed and the member will have the default role as set at the WordPress settings.

    Regarding the “downgrade action” then please note that the upgrade/downgrade facility is as per the action taken from the front-end, ARMember does provide a facility to set the action on the “Action on Failed Payment” so once the payment gets failed then you can set the access for the members so that accordingly the member will get the access to the plan
