What has been your best experience for changing domain name?

    I want to update the domain name of my site from https://www.virtualassistantsgroup.net to vadirectory.net.

    Basically I had vadirectory at another server and kept it live while building a new site with the other domain on a different server. Now it’s completed I want vadirectory.net to be the default domain – mainly because I have a membership that logs into the site and want them to retain their usual logins.

    I did try the settings change in the dashboard but it didn’t seem to work and kept trying to resolve.

    Rather than trial all the options listed in codex thought I’d ask here who has tried doing this and been successful in it please?
