• Doing my first post. I type the text in and when I do the “preview the post” function it is in a different font, larger and is bolded, making it difficult to read.

    Any reason why this would be happening? Is it perhaps something that the guys who built my site and set up WordPress might have set up this way?

    The other thing I’m having problems with is when I set up a link in my post. The link works but it is black just like the rest of the text and is not underlined….so nobody will be able to tell it is a link. Help?

  • It sounds like code errors and/or a bad theme.

    I’m just using one of the available themes wordpress offers. THe line breaks on my post are all correct, the text is correct, it is just showing up bolded and in a large font. LOL I thought WordPress was supposed to be easy?

    If it’s the unmodified default or classic theme, then it is code errors. Easy ways to get them are to switch back and forth between the visual and html editors or to try adding your own code like b or br and fail to close these tags.

    I went back and forth between visual and html. It looks perfect on visual and then when I use the preview section it still looks the same as it did before. If I look at the html view it shows the formatting where I have things bolded and a link. Unfortunately it doesnt look like that when I use the preview function or when I actually post….

    Shouldnt be this hard to get a link to show up or to get something bolded should it?

    Do not switch back and forth between the visual and html editors because it will mess up your code. Use only one editor or the other.

    Ok thanks. I got the link to show up a different color by manually changing the color. (I was used to WORD where it changes color automatically when a link is created.

    Only question I have left is how do you get a link to be underlined?

    Your theme may have used css to remove the underlining from links. Look in your theme’s style.css for the following applied to your post links a (whatever it is):

    text-decoration: none;
