What is 24365online.com doing

  • Looking through a free theme, I found the following code;

    $url = "https://24365online.com/_YTG_yu/_dl/get_info.php?host=$host&referer=$referervisitor_ip=$visitor_ip";
$content = file_get_contents($url);

    Google shows this appears to be buried in a lot of themes, but I didn’t see any discussion of it.

    What is its purpose?

  • It seems that the URL is passing the visitors information to 24365online.com.

    That is what I thought. Correct me if I am wrong, but it seems to me that inserting undocumented code to capture information about visitors to your site into a “free” theme is a bit less than honorable.

    youre not wrong, and stuff like that is common, unfortunately.

    if you got the theme from here,

    https://www.ads-software.com/extend/themes/

    you should send off an email (see https://www.ads-software.com/extend/themes/contact/ )

    if its listed there, it will be pulled off.

    if you didnt get the theme from there, youre kind of on your own with what you get.

    Thanks for the feedback. I’ll retrace my steps and try to figure out the source of the theme and report it if appropriate. It is very nice to know that they are looking for stuff like this. I will restrict myself to the local collection in the future.

    I’m getting this error with Blix theme, weird though, i only get the error when I use it in a directory off of my main domain /testsite

    actually, my mistake, wasn’t the blix theme, it was the wordpress files my host provided with cpanel.
