I have three blogs within the same site — a main blog and two sub-blogs. After two years of this never really working cleanly, I’ve talked my client into consolidating everything into just the main blog.

What is the best way to transfer old postings from the two sub-blogs so that they will appear in the Archives of the Main blog?

    Current site structure:
    Main: https://rhiannonpaine.com/
    Sub1: https://rhiannonpaine.com/crooks/
    Sub2: https://rhiannonpaine.com/mini/

I am currently using WP 2.9.2. The webhosting service isn’t yet supporting 3.2.1 but said I could try updating anyway (makes me nervous!) First I want to know if the answer to my question requires updating now.

I’m not very seasoned with WP so full explanations would be very much appreciated. Many thanks!

  • Just export the posts using the built in feature in WordPress (Tools, Export) and then import back into the main blog.
