What is causing multiple transient sessions?

  • This week we have had server issues – being overloaded

    and from Siteground technician:
    “According to our checks, the main cause of the issue was due to the multiple transient sessions being generated by Woocommerce.”

    Please can you advise what might be causing this? and How to stop it from happening?

    ps Running on Version 3.9.3 (waiting to ensure 4.0 is stable)
