what is message id means

    Hi we are trying to find out one issue regarding woocommerce or stripe payment gateway, one of the service is trying to send multiple emails to our client, with the same content, at various times.

    There’s not much information about which or who did trigger the smtp sending function, therefore trying to findout from wp smtp. May we know what is Message-Id and what does it contains or means, so that if possible to get more insight on the issue mentioned above.

    Thanks for reaching out. Message-ID may not help to identify the service sending the email. It is an identifier and is usually generated by the mail server sending the email. What it contains depends upon the SMTP host you’ve specified unless it is modified in some way.
