What is product name parent product hyphen?

    Hi

    I was creating lists for Google merchant center usign your plugin when the option “product name parent product hyphen” appeared when I was configuring the title value. I wanted to know what it does and if it could be useful for Google Shopping lists.

    Im not a native English speaker so that why I ask for the clarification

    Thanks for using our plugin and reaching out to us.

    Our plugin will automatically create unique product names for product variations (as this is required by Google and Meta) by using the variable parent product name + the attribute value. So for example: “Widget – blue” (where blue is the variation attribute value).

    When you don’t want this behaviour you can change the field mapping to “Product name parent product” which is just the variable parent product name without the attribute values attached, so all of the variations of tat product will get the same title: “Widget”.

    The “Product name parent product hypen” does the same as “Product name parent product” but with a hypen attached to it. So “”Product name parent product -“, which could be useful when you use the data manipulation feature of our plugin.
