I was going through the plugin settings and noticed “Regenerate Avatars”.

What does this setting do exactly? I’m not sure if I should have it on or off.

Does it Regenerate Avatar images because the size may be different than the default WordPress or Theme avatars? Like 40×40?

For anyone else reading this I’m looking in:

Site Reviews > Settings > Reviews > Regenerate Avatars
    — Option: (Yes/No)
    — Note: Regenerate the avatar whenever a local review is shown?

Thanks for the help! I left a 5-star review today.

Thank you very much for the review, it’s much appreciated!

Site Reviews uses the standard WordPress Gravatar service for avatars. When a person submits a Review with their email address, Site Reviews will lookup the gravatar associated with their email and store the avatar to the review. When a review is displayed it will use the stored avatar.

Using a stored avatar has the potential to load the review avatars faster as it does not depend on an external service. However, if the gravatar avatar is changed or if someone sets up a gravatar account after they submitted an review, that new avatar will not be shown.

The regenerate avatar option simply uses the gravatar service to fetch the avatar each time (and updates the review with it if it has changed) instead of using the stored avatar.
