• Hi
I just installed your plugin and would like to use it to display images of 100 actors.

every few days a few groups of images will be uploaded and i would like to display them in posts named something like.

Alexis Bledel at Paris Film Festival August 2 2011

The page would display thumbs of that days zip
and the images would be stored under her name
the images would only be of Alexis however other people may be at the event… see below..

I figure each person would get their own category
    Posts would go under that

In the category-123.php theme file template for that person I would like to have a slideshow of recent updates from recent events for just that person … at the top of each cat page.

I would also like to have a News Category
The news category would have a post something like

Paris Film Festival August 2 2011

As said above Alexis would have her own post and a group of her images would be uploaded in a group for that days post.

However if there were 5 people at the Paris Film Festival then there would be 5 people with 5 zip files uploaded.

Alexis Bledel Paris Film Festival August 2 2011
Paris Hilton Paris Film Festival August 2 2011
Demi Lovato Paris Film Festival August 2 2011

I would like to have all of those 5 grouped into one thumbnail page or slideshow for the Paris Film Festival August 2 2011….

I am not sure if I can tag within NextGen to link different groups of images and display them easily on a single post.

I know most of these things are possible but …

I don’t want to start off in the wrong direction because I expect the gallery to include thousands of images on at least 100 people

If anyone knows of a help page that would cover large galleries of this type that would be excellent…

If you can drop a hint my way that would be really cool

    THANKS!

  • There are 2 levels to organize pictures in NGG: galleries and albums. Albums can contain galleries, and also other albums (i.e., albums can be nested).

According to what you say, each of your “zip” files would go to a gallery, and you can then arrange the grouped ones in an album (e.g., one per event). Then you have the choice to display the album (with the 5 galleries) or each gallery individually.

You can start creating some galleries and then go to Gallery>Album to organize the albums with the drag-and-drop interface.
