What is the best option for running multiple websites with WordPress?
-
Hello:
A little background:
Before switching one of my sites to WordPress I used a custom CMS system where I could view stats or add content etc to different websites, with different databases and different domains. After switching one website to WordPress I found it was much easier to add new features that I wanted because I no longer had to recode everything just to have a new option or two. Most of my sites are add-on domains running on the same host eg…
example2.com is really example1.com/example2
example3.com is really example1.com/example3I would like to switch all my remaining sites to WordPress, but I think it would be counter productive to have plugins, admin systems and themes spread all over the place — frequently in triplicate. I looked into WordPress MU and Lyceum but they are made specifically for multiple users and I would have to juggle multiple log ins, activate email addresses etc to use it which defeats the purpose. What I need is multiple blogs but a single user. I also tried the plugin multiply, but found it to be lacking.
My custom CMS spoiled me so what I want is a little pie in the sky, but is there a way to have multiple blogs spread across multiple add-on domains working within the same administrators panel? If not, is there something similar?
Eg: I go to example1.com and can post to and control what appears on example2.com and example3.com.I have spent a lot of time looking myself but I couldn’t find anything so thanks for any help you can give.
