what is the code to link to the logged in member's profile/site? (MUI)

I am constructing a custom site wide menu on my MU installation. I dug through a lot of code but can’t seem to find the snippet that will let me link to whoever is logged in’s site and/or profile. I know it’s in the upper left menu, but this is no always obvious and I’d like to add to my custom menu.
