• I checked the Twenty Twenty Three theme and the default font name is “system font”. I tried to search on Google but it seems like there is no such font named “system font”.

I want to use this font for my other websites. Can you tell me the real name of this “system font” and where can I download it? I tried to search on fonts.google.com but no luck.

Hi @vikiendu – “system font” doesn’t refer to any specific font. A “system font” is a font that’s already installed on a device, so the font you’re seeing depends on your own specific computer or mobile device. Just to take one example, your iPad’s system font might be a different font than your PC’s system font. More about system fonts.

If you’d like to know what your system font you’re seeing on a site, you can try using Firefox’s browser inspector. It comes with a Fonts panel that should clearly show you what font you’re seeing.

To do that, right-click (or control-click on Mac) on the element whose font you’re trying to identify, and select “Inspect” from the contextual menu.

In the Firefox inspector, select the Fonts panel. You’ll see the name of the font there.

For example, this is what I see on my Macbook when I select the h2 heading on the Twenty Twenty-Three demo site: SF NS, which is an Apple System font. Unless you’re also on a Mac, you may be seeing a different font on your side. Once you identify the font you’re seeing, can then do a web search for the font name to locate it for download. That said, it would already be installed on your computer, so you should normally be able to find it in your system files.
