    Morning,

A client of ours has a question regarding a field set by this plugin called mailchimp_woocommerce_landing_site. They (and me as well) are uncertain as what this field means.

For example, a new client visits the website and buys a product for the first time, he is not enrolled yet in Mailchimp whatsoever, but still the field mailchimp_woocommerce_landing_site is occupied with an URL when he orders. Where does this field get his data from?

    Thanks in advance!

    Good morning!

Thanks so much for using the plugin and great question!

The field mailchimp_woocommerce_landing_site in WooCommerce serves as a tracking mechanism to identify the first page that a customer lands on when they interact with your WooCommerce store. This information is used primarily for marketing and analytics purposes, particularly when integrating with Mailchimp. How It Works:

    1. Tracking User Engagement: When a user visits your WooCommerce store, the mailchimp_woocommerce_landing_site field captures the URL of the page they first visit. This allows Mailchimp to understand where the customer started their journey.
    2. Data Utilization:
    • Segmentation and Targeting: By tracking the landing pages, businesses can segment their customer lists based on interests reflected in the pages they visit first. This helps in tailoring marketing campaigns more effectively.
    • Automation Triggers: The landing site data can also trigger specific automations in Mailchimp, such as sending follow-up emails or creating targeted campaigns based on the products or categories customers initially viewed.
    1. Enhanced Customer Insights: By analyzing the landing data, businesses can gain insights into which pages attract more visitors and how those pages convert into sales. This leads to informed decisions regarding marketing strategies and website optimization.

In summary, the mailchimp_woocommerce_landing_site field is a vital component in tracking customer interactions, aiding in personalized marketing efforts, and enhancing the overall eCommerce experience through targeted communications.
