What is the reason why the user cancels the order and the administrator mailbox does not receive an email reminder?

  • Can’t only admin cancel an order? I don’t think a user can

The user’s personal center, order management, has the button to cancel the order. After the customer cancels the order, the administrator does not receive an email reminder.

    Hi @yeqingwp

Do you have the “Cancelled order” email notification enabled? Is the Recipient(s) email address correct?

Please share a copy of your site’s System Status. You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support”. Once you’ve done that, paste it here in your response.

Ahhh I didn’t know that. I guess I don’t use the front end often enough.

So if a user cancels their order does it show in Woocommerce > Orders ?
I have a few numbers missing and I wondered why.

    I just tested this
I created an order myself and I can not cancel it as a Customer
There are plugins that will allow me to let the Customer cancel an order but it’s not a standard setup with Woocommerce

    Can someone please confirm ?

    Hi @witchystitchy

There is not an option for the customer to cancel an order in WooCommerce out of the box.

If the plugin you’re using to cancel orders for your customers is not working as expected, I recommend taking a look at the WooCommerce.com marketplace where you’ll find the plugin Customer Order Cancellation for WooCommerce that allows your customers to cancel their order from the account page.

Let us know if you have any other questions.

    Hi @mirko P.

That’s what I thought but it was mentioned above so I thought I must’ve been wrong.
No, I don’t have a plugin for users to cancel orders. Happy for admin to do it.

    Hi @witchystitchy,

No, I don’t have a plugin for users to cancel orders.

So how are your customers going to cancel orders? You earlier stated this:

The user’s personal center, order management, has the button to cancel the order.

It looks like you have a third-party tool that allows customers to cancel their orders. However, note that orders can also be automatically canceled after the hold stock limit is reached:

Email notifications for failed and canceled orders are only sent to the recipient(s) saved under WooCommerce > Settings > Emails:

You’ll want to check if the emails are being correctly generated and sent. You can do this by installing a plugin like WP Mail Logging.

    Thanks.
