What is the 'stable tag' in the plugin's readme.txt?

    I’m about to submit my first plugin to WP, but am a bit confused by the stable tag within readme.txt. Can somebody shed some light on this?

  • It’s the version completely stable, with no issues at all. Generally this is a version which have been already tested for users and its all issues have been fixed and there’s no report about issues for a long time.

    As it’s your first plugin so just put its the current version there
