What is Theme Ads Image URL?

    My current theme has 4 125 x 125 ad spaces that can be customized in the Theme Ads subdirectory of the Settings toolbar. They ask for a link URL or image URL and everyone I’ve tried doesn’t display the image. What exactly are these URLs?
