• Anytime I look at my blog, I can never go more than 30 seconds or so before this super-annoying pop-up comes up saying “Join our UserBase”; and as far as I can tell there is no way to get it to go away without refreshing the page. Recently I have had readers complain to me about this, too; and I can’t be tolerating anything on my blog that’s annoying my readers.

    My blog is at deekadelic.com

When the pop-up comes up, it says:
“Welcome to the Deekadelic.com UserBase”, then below that is a “Login with Facebook” button and next to that a “Login With Google+” button. Below those is a prompt for the user to enter an email address, and next to that is a green button that says “submit”.

It is not the least bit clear to me what this is; and I can’t find any information online to explain it to my satisfaction. If this is something I signed up for, I can’t tell what it is or what is its purpose.

    Anybody?

    Thanks

    Deek

  • Yes, quite annoying!

This link indicates you re using Jetpack: https://whatwpthemeisthat.com/

My guess would be that you have some kind of social thing enabled there.

    That’s not Jetpack, it’s Readygraph.

Are you using https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/simple-subscribe/ on your site?

I got the same problem. I use “subscribe2”. If i deactivate this extension the problem vanish. its use too ReadyGraph

When ReadyGraph took over those plugins (or became ReadyGraph, I forget which) they added that to their plugins.

    Use a different plugin. ??

Oddly, I don’t see Readygraph, simple-subscribe, subscribe2, or anything else even remotely similar in my list of plugins.

Incidentally, I do have Jetpack installed; but deactivating it does not make the problem go away.

Here is a list of all of my active plugins:

    Advanced Image Styles
    Akismet
    Contact Form 7
    Email Newsletter
    Google Analytics by Yoast
    Insert Headers and Footers
    Jetpack by WordPress.com
    Layerslider WP
    MOJO Marketplace
    Revolution Slider
    Videopress
    Wordpress Importer
    WPBakery Visual Composer

Maybe this list can shed some light on the matter. I hope so!

    Thanks

    *Looks*

I am pretty sure it’s the Email newsletter plugin that’s the culprit.

    https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/email-newsletter/

The authors make the same mention of ReadyGraph there too.

This plugin has integrated ReadyGraph, an optional set of features to automate the growth of your userbase.

Which while I appreciate their offering of plugins (plugins are a gift to users) that ReadyGraph popup would be enough reason for me to never use one of their plugins.

Just like you, I find that popup intrusive.

Oh man, that did it! My blogging teacher told me that Email Newsletter was a rock-solid plugin to use; so I never really considered it as possibly being the culprit. Maybe the Readygraph integration happened after she told me this (in October)?

Either way, that did it. The only question now is: what’s a good plugin to use to fill in for the now-missing Email Newsletter plugin?

    Anyone got any recs?

    Thanks again

It’s ReadyGraph. I tried to disable it, but there’s no setting that provides for that. And when I wrote to the bastards, they sent me a message back telling me how to activate my account.

Next step is a Twitter bombardment.

I had the same problem. I hate that popup. For me, the culprit was Really Simple Share. Fortunately, updating the plugin took care of it.

Same problem, currently trying to find the culprit ??

Same problem and i think it’s contact form 7

i updated it few hours ago and since this time this pop-up appear

I hope someone is still monitoring this thread. Really Simple Share seems to be causing the UserBase pop-up on my site. I have the most up-to-date RSS plug-in.

Any suggestion for another simple plug-in for sharing?

What in the world is the user base anyway?

It’s readygraph…. and they offer it in a bunch of plugins:
