It does not switch the title. There is no javascript included in this plugin.

Yeah that’s bullshit. I’m staring right at a “verified.js” file right now nested within /buddypress-verified/includes/js/. When I search for “oldtitle” within the document I get “ie=”_replacedByqTip”,se=”oldtitle”. So again, what’s up with that?

Sorry totally forgot I added in a tool tip jquery plugin. Previously it did not have any js.

    Investigating…

What exact title is getting replaced.

Every title on the site is replaced by this “oldtitle” element. And since your javascript code is minified it’s difficult to understand and style these tool tips, they look atrocious so it forces me to keep buddy verified deactivated until I can disable “oldtitle”. I also don’t know how viable this “oldtitle” is for user accessibility, I’d rather just have regular title tags.

    +1 for buddy-verified without any javascript ??

Nice idea, but interfering. It is interrupting the flow of some menus, etc. Would be nice if just a class is used for BuddyVerified itself. +1

You should understand how important user accessibility is for web applications. This “oldtitle” deal needs to be removed so that buddypress sites are able to use your Buddy-verified plugin while simultaneously allowing the traditional “title” accessibility features that have been built in to web browsers for over the past decade. Your move.

    Hi xyhavoc,

Where are you seeing that? (Is it theme specific?) I have the buddy-verified plugin installed too but don’t see “oldtitle” anywhere on my site or when searching my site’s rendered html source in a browser. Tooltips seem to show up with their proper values as well.

You obviously found “oldtitle” in the js so not saying it’s not a problem or anything. Need to know if it’s causing an issue on my site too (that I’m not catching) or if it’s only appearing under certain situations.

    Thanks!

I don’t know what more you need. This oldtitle code is clearly in the BuddyVerified Javscript.

I’m having the same problem and it killed this plugin, because oldtitle: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/super-socializer/

The oldtitle is everywhere. Please get rid of that .js
