What settings are required

I am seeking a plugin to disable orders during periods where we are running or testing updates moreso than to take a vacation. Particularly important as the last updates caused problems and I needed to revert to an earlier backup.

I installed the plugin, went to settings. At first it appeared all I’d need to do is check “Disable Purchase” but I see the red “*”‘s near “Set Vacation Mode and on the Start date and end date fields. It appears the data fields are required. I don’t want to shut down the store for a full day or longer so I didn’t want to play with that setting. Is that what’s missing? Does your FAQ feature a “step-by-step” guide?

I’m looking to be able to simply disable purchases for a period, usually of an hour or so. Will this plugin do what I’m seeking?
