    Hello,

I’m new to bots and do not really understand how the plugin should work.

I added a bot as described in the configuration. When I test the token ist identifies my bot. The bot is admin of my group.

But when I try to send a test message nothing happens, no error or success?

    What should happen there?

    Best, Daniel

  • When you create the bot, @BotFather will send you a token for that bot. You need to copy the token (case sensitive) and paste it in the field given in the WP Telegram Settings. Add the bot as channel administrator?. Then enter the channel username in the next field in Settings.
Then the bot token will be used to send the message to your channel the username of which you entered in the settings and the bot has to be an administrator of the channel.

The token will be validated when you enter it in the text field. If you don’t see any error message, then click “Test Token” and see if you get the results.

    Hello Manzoor,

thanks for your quick reply. When I test token, this is the result:
    Test result: celtic-rock.de (@celticdebot)
Seems to be ok. Bot is admin of my group.

The name of my goup is celtic-rock.de
I added this in the next line: @celtic-rock.de. Send test message and nothing happens?
No error message, but no message too ;-(

If your group is a public group and has a username (not the title), then you can enter the username of the group in the given field. Otherwise you need to get the Chat ID of the group. To get the id, simply add this @GroupIDbot to the group and send /id@GroupIDbot command and it will send you the id of the group, something like -123456789. When you are done, you can remove @GroupIDbot from the group ??
