What specific WordPress settings does Media in export screen exports?

  • When I’m using the WordPress Export screen, what’s the Media option for? What specific settings does it export?

    Do I really need to export the Media option?

    I’m asking because when I use the Posts option, and I import to the new site, all the images are already in the posts.

    It’s not uncommon for there to be media not attached to posts. You don’t necessarily need to use it, but others will want to ?? The option exports related “attachment” post type data. They are the only settings exported. Actually, the site’s title and description are in the export file, but are not used on import.
