What the file button refuses to show up

  • HI,

    I know this has been reported before, but I cannot seem to get it working.

    Tried everything, deactivated all plugins but ‘what the file’, changed
    the theme to a basic ‘TwentyForteen’, logged out/in with the admin account many times, changed browsers etc. No luck so far.

    – Logged in as admin, can see the top admin bar,
    – running the latest WP 4.1,
    – only running the ‘What the file’ plugin,
    – using TwentyForteen theme,
    – using PHP 5.3.5

    Can’t make it more basic than this ??
