what themes come with the Easy mode of DreamHost's One-Click feature?

  • I just opened an account with DreamHost and am in the process of installing the WordPress software using their One-Click feature but got stuck: I would like to choose the Easy mode installation as I am nervous about maintaining/upgrading the software myself but I noticed it said you can only choose from the standard themes that come with if you select Easy mode.

    Does anyone know if the themes that come in Easy mode are the same as the free ones offered here on www.ads-software.com? I’m just worried that if I choose Easy mode I will only have the choice of 3 themes or something…if anyone else has gone through this and chosen Easy mode installation, could you please tell me what themes/how many you get? Is it the same as the list here on www.ads-software.com?

  • Just don’t use the ‘Easy Mode’ and use the automatic upgrade feature of WordPress to keep your WordPress installation up to date. This usually works very well and you can use any theme you want.

    Thanks so much for responding, CoderJosh! So there isn’t any other maintenance type stuff I would have to do myself? Would the WP automatic upgrade feature cover everything?

    Yes, once WordPress is set up, WordPress core as well as the plugins and themes can be upgraded automatically. You’ll see a notification on your dashboard whenever a component needs to be upgraded, that’s really very comfortable and easy!
