    Hi,

In this field (Facebook app ID), I entered the ID of an app that I created to handle Facebook Comments, but I am not sure if this is what I am supposed to enter. Should I enter another ID, like the Facebook Pixel ID? Can I leave this field blank?

If you can provide a little more information about this, that’d be very helpful. I searched on your website and on this forum, and there is some information, but it doesn’t go into detail-

    Thank you!
    Carlos.

The ‘Facebook App ID’ that you have the option to input in Yoast SEO under Social>Facebook is a specific ID number assigned to your Facebook application. You can find additional information on registering and configuring your Facebook application ID here: https://developers.facebook.com/docs/apps/register/#app-id. After you’ve setup a Facebook app, you′ll find the App ID in the app dashboard here: https://developers.facebook.com/apps

If you have not specified a Facebook app ID for your site this does not interfere with the ability to share posts on Facebook, and if you don’t have a Facebook application you can just leave the ‘Facebook App ID’ field blank. We also have more information on this here: https://kb.yoast.com/kb/warning-fb-app-id-hasnt-been-included-in-the-meta-tags/

    Hi,

    Thank you for your reply.

I read that article, but I still had doubts. That’s why I opened this ticket. To use Facebook Comments, I had to configure an app, but I am not sure if I should enter that app ID in the “Facebook App ID” field or if I should better leave it blank.

    Hi,

We are unable to provide advice on what you should or should not do. However, it may be best to add the app ID and then monitor the results over a short period of time to see if they are affecting the site in anyway.
