• I’ve searched the forum for topics on how to invite people to test drive a plugin before releasing it in the repository but couldn’t find any.

    • Can I just ask people on this forum if they would like to test drive my plugin? Or is that frowned upon?
    • Are there other smart ways to reach people that love to try new stuff and might have a test site, separate from their main site?

Any thoughts on this are highly appreciated.

  • Why not upload it to the repository with a version below 1.0 and ask people to test it, on the plugin description page?

This forum is for alpha/beta testing WordPress core.

It will be frowned upon if you ask for reviews for plugins that aren’t distributed on www.ads-software.com.

Thanks Knut, I’m new to this ?? Which of the forums would be the right place to ask?

Andrew, this plugin will be released on www.ads-software.com, but we want to have it stable before we do. Would it be okay to ask people to test in that case?

Remember that the www.ads-software.com forums are here to support WordPress, the core application, and themes and plugins that are distributed on www.ads-software.com. However there is 1 forum where you can show off your work, and that is the Your WordPress forum, but that’s for showing off websites. So people will be testing your plugin’s output on a Webpage, and not what you want I think.
