• I’m currently using the theme Jobify. The Jobify team recommends Say What for occasional string replacements.

    However, no matter what, I cannot get Say What to work with any of the translatable strings within the jobify domain. BUT Say What works fine with other domains.

    For example, a string inside one of the class definitions is:

    __(‘Apply for Job’,’jobify’)

    Say What is configured :

    Original String
    Apply for Job

    Text domain
    jobify

    Text context
    (blank)

    Replacement string

    But nothing happens. Sorry if this is out of scope, but they referred me here since it’s a 3rd party plugin. Hopefully you would have an idea as to why I’m having this issue.

    Thanks!

    Hi;

    There’s no reason that I’m aware of. The most likely cause that it’s not achieving the effect you’re after would be if that string isn’t used straight away – perhaps it’s assigned to a variable, and never used – or overwritten by something else. It’s impossible to say without knowledge of the theme.

    Unfortunately I can’t offer support for finding original strings or the settings you need to enter to translate a specific piece of text in a plugin or theme you’re using.

    Might be worth checking with Jobify support if there’s a different string you should be translating?
