• I just registered with a new web hosting service, and did my best to transfer over the files that I thought I would need. So, this would include the current wordpress directory from my site https://www.derekreiff.com.. It appears that the DNS servers have taken hold, so it looks like my site is live. HOWEVER. I don’t know how to transfer mysql databases, but I do have them saved from the previous server. Why is my blog working!?!?!?!?

  • It isn’t working for me… it is possible that the machine you’re surfing from uses a DNS server that has the old information cached… I don’t know though. When I try to follow the link you post (after removing the two periods after the .com) and click on blog, I get an error establishing the database connection.

that site shows the same IP for your domain.
Ask your new host what their IP is and see if they match.

Also clear your browser cache completely or try to see it with another – you may be seeing cached entries.
