What’s the limit on number of pages? (adding 4000~ to wordpress)

Hi,

I’ve got roughly 250 pages at the moment and wordpress seems to be holding up.

I’m creating a rather large directory on all of the schools in England and have managed to insert the pages using SQL.

The problem is those 250 pages are only the regions. There are roughly 4000 schools i’m trying to add. Will WordPress cope???

Can anyone report on using WordPress to handle a lot of pages or posts? I’m using WordPress as more of a CMS than a blog
