Whats up with the check boxes?

  • Since 3.6 upgrading to 3.8.1 is ridiculously slow when checking off categories and publishing. Why does it take so much longer just to check a box off and publish?

  • Can you replicate the problem using the default Twenty Fourteen theme with all plugins deactivated?

    I’d have to take my site down if I did that. I’m using a custom theme I’ve been using for the past year. Everything worked great, plugins and all until I upgraded to 3.8.1. I hesitated all year upgrading because I figured there’d be problems. Sure enough, I upgrade the framework and this happens.

    Why? There is no magic bullet in these situations. This is just the start of basic troubleshooting and is a process of elimination deliberately designed to locate the root cause as quickly as possible by first removing the most obvious and common culprits via a series of (often) temporary steps.

    Your theme & plugin settings are saved in your database and should be retained for future use.

    Hi esmi, I understand that. That’s not the issue. The issue is the fact I never had a problem with the theme or plugins, (of which nothing new has been added since a year ago at implementation). The problems all started when I updated the framework to 3.8.1.

    Is there any way I can back out of the updates and go back to 3.6?
