WhatsApp share button was not working

I’m using your plugin for share the link of my article on whatsapp but it seems not working. When user click on whatsapp icon, they will redirect to https://web.whatsapp.com/send?text=postname%20https%3A%2F%2Fwww.example.com%2Fpostname%2F and thats was not working. But when I try to change “web.whatsapp.com” to “api.whatsapp.com”, it works and will ask user to choose and open whatsapp app.

How to resolve that problem?
