When activated, i cannot change the name showed publicly

    The plugin do what is made for, but i saw a big problem. When it’s activated, if a user is connected, his first and last name will be shown in replacement of is username. If you go in the profile tab in the back menu, you can’t change it. It’s a big problem, cause when users post on my bbpress forum, their names are showed. I don’t think everybody want their names showed to all users. In addition, i suggest strongly to your developper(s) to show by default usernames when users are connected, because not everybody give access to the back end menu to their users for changing it (like my site). You know, i want sync first and last name to buddypress for the registration and for giving opportunity to my users to show which informations they want, but forcing them to show their first and last name, i think it’a a lack of privacy.

    So can you help me on that ?

    I understand your issue, but I’d say that it is less an issue with this plugin and more an issue with your theme. Your theme can display anything you want instead of the BuddyPress full name, though it would require changes to your theme or the inclusion of a filter in your ‘functions.php’ file.

    Users do not need access to the WordPress admin pages to change their first name and last name – they can do this via their BuddyPress profile edit page.

    I do not agree, since loading this plugin, I physically cannot change the display name setting for my users, clearly this happened after loading this plugin and it’s not a thing the theme will effect.

    Basically your plugin forces the full name (First name)+(Last Name) to be the users nickname and display name rendering these options useless and the only way round it is to remove your last name, rendering the plugin a bit useless for networks such as mine where nicknames are the order of the day.

    Is it possible to change this please?

    This plugin is designed to enforce the use of first and last names. I suggest you deactivate the plugin and create your own first name and last name fields. These will not be synced and therefore won’t affect your set up.
