PublishPress Permissions is Hiding a Custom Post from Custom User Role
-
Hello,
I have set up a User Role (CTC Editor) in PublishPress Capabilities and given capabilities to edit, create, edit others, publish and edit published on a custom post-type (FAQs). All works fine, until I activate the PublishPress Permissions plugin which I use to give an Author specific access to edit one WP Page on the site.
I also use PublishPress Permissions to give the CTC Editor role permission to create/publish Posts, and to edit specific pages on the site. The Posts and Pages work fine.
When I login as the CTC Editor role I can see the Posts, Pages down the left Admin Bar but no FAQs; and New -> Post, Page, FAQ appears on the top admin bar. New -> Post and New -> Page work as normal
However, when I click on New -> FAQ it takes me to a blank page that says:
You need a higher level of permission.
Sorry, you are not allowed to create posts as this user.As soon as I deactivate PublishPress Permissions, the CTC Editor Role can Add a new FAQ. And FAQs appears on the left Admin Bar.
When logged in as CTC Editor and copy and paste the edit url for a specific FAQ post, it allows me access and I can edit it. Note: I have given specific Edit permissions on those FAQ posts via the Permissions plugin to the CTC Editor role (in an effort to get the FAQs appear on the admin menu, but it didn’t work).
In short, PublishPress Permissions is hiding the FAQ custom post type from the left Admin bar for the CTC Editor role, and not giving permission to create a New FAQ post from the New dropdown on the top admin bar.
All works when I deactivate PublishPress Permissions. I’ve posted some screenshots below in the hope that helps.
Thanks in advance for any solution. I really need CTC Editor to be able to access the FAQs to edit and also to create/publish new FAQ posts.
Cheers,
Tracy
