Okay, I know this will sound ignorant but I need some help. I have my WordPress running at localhost. I want to use the plugin to create a static site. The first time I run it, it takes a long time but completes and does a decent job.

Then, on localhost, if I add a new post and want the plugin to add it to the site, it does the entire crawl again. All I want it to do is discover the change and change the few files that need to be updated.

Can you give me a push in the right direction on this? Thanks.

After working on this two days, about ten minutes after posting my question I came upon a solution. Not sure it is the preferred one, but this is what I’m doing: After the initial deployment I clicked on Preview Initial Crawl List. I copied that entire list and pasted it into the exclude list. Then when I ran the plugin it took about 5 seconds.

    Hi @usernameexists,

Thanks for using WP2Static and I love how you came up with the workaround!

It’s one of a few to get easier incremental deploys in the current version, but I’m making auto-deploy on post create/update a primary focus in upcoming version 7, along with a bunch of caching mechanisms to make subsequent deploys very quick!

Hoping to get a testable build out soon.

    Cheers,

    Leon
