One of my websites is a subdomain. When I click on “Pages” on the WP dashboard, the link goes to pages of the main website. I have no idea what is wrong. I cannot access any page of the subdomain.

This does not happen when I click on any other WP menu item.

Any idea how to solve it?

  • I guess you have entered the wrong URL in the settings. See: https://www.ads-software.com/documentation/article/settings-general-screen/ – both entries here should be identical.

Thanks for your reply. Both directories are identical. When clicking on “Pages” in the WP menu on the left, at first it wants to go to “wp-admin/edit.php?post_type=page” of the proper subdomain, but after some delay the link opens with the main domain name. Apart from the wrong domain name the link is exactly the same.

I did a complete re-install but the problem remains the same. I have installed many WP websites and it is the first time I encounter this problem. When I make a new page all looks OK when doing that, but it is saved in the “Pages” of the subdomain, which I cannot see.

I use Firefox and it seems it is a browser problem. I just noticed with Chrome and Maxthon all seems to work fine.

Then it is probably a cache problem of the browser. Empty it once.

Thanks a lot, it worked. Now, why didn’t I think of that myself….
