I have a MultiSite that is set up for subdomains, but when I clone sitename.domain.com it clones as https://www.sitename.domain.com

I can change this in the site settings, but it leaves certain references to https://www.sitename.domain.com in the setup – for example images set for social sharing by SEO plugin etc.

Could this be since the recent WordPress update because I was sure I had tested this successfully previously.

A second issue, which I’m sure worked fine previously, is that I am using the Divi theme and I am now finding that images are not cloning to the new site, the img source remains to the orginal cloned site.

Any pointers to resolve the above would be much appreciated…!

    Hi Frank,

This sounds like there might be an issue with the way your WordPress Multisite is setup under Network Settings or possibly an issue at the server level. I would first check their documentation on how to properly setup a multisite for subdomains:

    https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Multisite_Network_Administration#.htaccess_and_Mod_Rewrite

If you are using the free version of Cloner it will copy ALL images as long as they are stored in the WP database. If they are stored in another place then they will most likely not be copied over. Can you check with Divi support and see if that’s the case? They might be storing certain images outside of the WP DB.

If everything was working previously I would take stock in what new plugins were added or what changes on the site/server might have been made recently…

    Hope this helps!
    Stephen

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. I will look into what you’ve mentioned. The site really should be set up correctly but I have had several issues with domain mapping and www / no-www – it’s possible somewhere along the line something was changed that has affected NS Cloner. However I did test NScloner successfully previously, so that’s odd. The only changes wrt plugins / wordpress has been the recent WordPress update and resultant plugin updates.

If nobody else is having this issue I guess it must be something in the set up.

When I went to troubleshoot this problem and try and resolve it the issues had disappeared. Unless my host made changes to the server, the only other change I made was to update WooCommerce plugin.

In any case NS Cloner now seems to be working as expected.

Thank you again for coming back to me quickly.
