    I tried pasting first in the visual editor, then in the text editor. It made no diference ??

    In that case you need to change theme to Twenty Sixteen and check. If you still have a problem, then start disabling plugins one by one to identify the one that’s causing the conflict.

    I already tried that – as sand20 suggested above. Even with all of the other plugins disabled, Contact Form 7 didn’t work. sand20 suggested the problem is that my website is not hosted by WordPress, but I purchased my own hosting service.
