• I have a BIG problem now.

When I MINIMIZE the screen it makes my sidebars move into the middle… UGH! Can anyone tell me why this might be happening or see the code I have altered in a way that would have done this?

I have not ever minimized this page until just now so who knows when this may have started!

Please help. If you can view my source code at https://www.spaparazzi.com and let me know.

The funny thing is it only does this on my HOME page.

If you navigate to the recent POSTS or ABOUT US…. and minimize, the screen its normal.

    Whats up with this??? ;o(

    I don’t know, it’s working fine for me when I minimize. I’m using IE7.

    I’m using Firefox 2.0, and it’s fine.

    OK here’s the deal.

I had a post with a hyperlink in it…which should not be a problem.

There is one further down the page with a url in it and not any issues with that one.

I noticed it was ONLY that one post for some reason causing the problem. So because it showed up on my home page it created this issue. If I clicked on the post itself, it also re-created this issue.

I went back in and removed the link first, not the entire post and it was FIXED!

Then I just deleted the post altogether because without the link the post was worthless.

Is this yet another glitche in WP 2.06?

I would hate to think I can’t even point to another url in the topic within my posts.

    Whats going on??

Don’t know, but maybe you should upgrade your WP? 2.1 has been released.

I’m also currently using the same theme that you are, a recolor of tulip time, and I’ve put links in my posts and I’m not having that issue. Do you have the latest version of the theme? The newest version is 0.9e, and it was released some time in the last two weeks. Making sure you have the lastest version may help solve that problem.

Also, you aren’t stating what browser you’re seeing this issue in. Could be a stylesheet problem. Was it a long URL? Was it in IE? What?

    It was actually IE 6

That’s your problem, then. Columns drop in IE when you have something that’s too wide for the content. Like a long url, or a picture that’s just a little (or a lot) too wide. IE sees that, and expands the width of the container it’s in, which makes it too wide for the container and pushes something out, so it drops.

You need a conditional comment for IE to keep it in it’s place. And it’s always a good idea to put the long URL in the anchor link as the href, but to name it something shorter *between* the tags, and not display the actual URL.

Maybe it’s just an IE6 and lower problem then, because it’s not happening in IE7. The current top post of the site has a link in it, and when I minimize the page, the content and sidebars stay where they’re supposed to.
