When I publish a post on my blog, it also appears at mydomain.com/year/month/day

  • I have a blog on website but I’ve just discovered that my posts are also appearing automatically on their own permalink. I.e mydomain.com/2023/February/18.

    How can I prevent this from happening?

  • WordPress creates archives of POSTs: by date (year/month/date/), by category, and by tag. There are also many other scenearious where your posts may be listed (eg search results).

    Under normal circumstances, all these “archives” should show excerpts of your posts, with a link to view ONE full post.

    This is how POSTs and blogging work.

    If you don’t want these archives, then create PAGEs, which don’t have any archives, not POSTs.
