When posting comments page not loading

    Hi,

    I have Akismet network activated on my site.

    The issue is whenever somebody post a comment on a new post.
    The comments does get posted, but the page redirects to an error page,
    On some browsers error page shows duplicate comment, some page show connection error timeout, some browsers show page does not load.

    Any idea what might be going on.

    On disabling Akismet it works

    One weird thing is I have a multisite setup and I actually have one site that actually works, all others does not work and I cannot figure out whats causing it. Everything on the back-end database looks identical.

    Also can you tell me which line on the Akismet plugin does the authentication takes place, feel like its something to do with that.

    Are you referring to the check run by Akismet to determine if the comment is spam? If so, that happens around line 78 of class.akismet.php.

    I meant the redirect after the authentication, the authentication runs fine I think, because the comment does get added.

    Hi,
    So this issue is still there an its getting more serious. Site is becoming unusable for some users. Its been more than 4-5 months since this issue started.

    I narrowed it down to buddypress setting to
    “Allow Akismet to scan for activity stream spam” but not sure if the error is on the buddypress call or Akismet site. Can you guys help with this.
