When posting new content, I save draft, or publish post and content disappears

  • It just started happening today, but I will have content in the post, I will save it as draft or publish it and all but a few words, sometimes a paragraph at most will post. I don’t know what to do to get this corrected.

    I have tried manually installing the new wordpress update. I have try disabling all of my plugins, and deleting some as well. I have tried using the default theme and several others. I have whitelisting myself, I have tried another htaccess thing I saw, and yet nothing is working.

    I don’t know what to do this is absolutely ridiculous. I can’t post anything and my posts are time sensitive. I am losing out to competition while this is going on.

    Can I just say that I have tried everything in that post and nothing is working. Every single time I try to post or save to draft it deletes content. It’s extremely frustrating. I shouldn’t have this problem. I didn’t have it until yesterday.

    Have you spoken to your hosts yet? Have you tried using dummy test – like lorem ipsum?

    I have spoken to my host, Bluehost, who basically told me there was nothing they could do, after we tried a couple of simple solutions seen on these forums. What’s this dummy test thing, what is this supposed to help me with?

    Lorem ipsum is dummy text that “looks” like real content (it kinda looks like Latin). It’s normally used to help designers fill out content areas but, in this case, it might help to confirm whether or not a word or phrase in your content is triggering a security filter at your hosts’ end. I’ve seen this happen before with the most innocent of phrases.

    I have had some problems with ” ‘ – . But it’s not always that, sometimes it happens randomly. I tried out the lorem ipsum and nothing deleted even when I saved the draft or published it. I since obviously took it down.

    The only way I can post something is constantly copy and paste the parts that are deleting out and re-writing ‘ ” – or whatever it was that is the first word that is deleted.

    Do you have to re-phrase anything? Do you know if Bluehost actually checked the mod_security settings on your server?

    I don’t re-phrase just re-write the same thing and it works, but it’s time consuming, and as far as bluehost anything that they did, they actually just had me do and they talked me through it.

    Are you copying the text in from another application – such as Word?

    Yeah, I run a comic book news and review site, and I have many contributors, as well as press releases from Marvel, Image and many other companies.

    That or the body of an Email. That’s typically what happens.

    I have been posting the same way since March when the site went live.
