When posting new content, I save draft, or publish post and content disappears

Don’t paste content from Microsoft Word into WordPress as the pasted text will also contain Word’s own formatting. Sooner or later, this formatting will stop your pages from being displayed correctly (if at all) in Internet Explorer. If you cannot possibly manage without Word, paste your text into NotePad (or another text editor) first, then copy from NotePad into WordPress. Ditto with content from emails.

Or use Windows LiveWriter.

Okay I will try that, but why would I have the secondary problem of when I try and upload a picture when it gets to 100% I have X out of the upload and re-open the gallery function to actually get to the picture. I feel like some of the problems are with the wordpress update since they are all new problems for me.

Have you tried:

– deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

– switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

– resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

– re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress.

I tried all of that.

It’s not a bug in WordPress, if that’s what you’re thinking. This is specific to your install, so something on your site is creating this problem.

I was looking for the same issue, I though that it’s only me how is having this strange and frustrating problem, I really understand how frustrated you are, as I had to retype or re copy the same text again and again to see when the text stop when i hit save to know which character is wrong and have to change it, the same characters you reported trigger the same issue for me. I have 3 blogs which almost the same setup and same plugins and the other two sites work the same, the only difference between the one that is working and the one that is not working is the BulletProof Security has created a htaccess Core and here I think the problem could be.

I am not a wordpress technically professional in coding so I would really appreciate if someone can tell what do I need to check or update in the htaccess file.

Please help as this is really time consuming task to keep editing the text tell it save the full post.

Thank you so much for your kind warning. I am just new here and see the topic which is very similar to my problem so I though it would be better to post at the same place to prevent working on the same issue twice.
