    Hello,

Happy to see this theme! I installed P2, and it works fine on its own when activated. Installed and activated and Mercury. It loads fine, but when I put the cursor in the post box, I get an error message: “Whoops! Looks like you’re not connected to the server. P2 could not connect with WordPress.”

What’s that about, do you know?

    Best,
    P@tty

    Hi Patty,

And if you switch back to the normal P2 theme, the error stops again?

Mercury is almost all just CSS changes (styling), and it uses all of P2’s own code for everything else.

    Hi Ryan,

Ok, actually the error does appear with just P2 activated.

I’ve actually run P2 on this same server and never gotten that error. So something must be fishy with this installation. I’m going to try re-installing P2.

Meanwhile, this is my little fork of P2-Responsive:

But I think I like yours better!

Ok, weird: I deleted P2, re-downloaded a fresh copy from www.ads-software.com, and installed it – and I still get that error. WP 4.0, no plugins installed.

    Here’s what it looks like:

Anyway, obviously nothing to do with Mercury. [EDITED] I just installed P2 & Mercury on another WP install on the same server, and no error message. Good, now to check out Mercury! I may use it on a live site. They keep yakking about “O2”, but I don’t see anything yet!

    Cheers,

    Hey Patty,

Good to hear you got it figured out! Nice job on your P2 Responsive fork. Mercury is on GitHub too (https://github.com/ryansommers/mercury), so you could always fork it and play around as well ??

Thanks, Ryan! I might just do that. ??

    I had same trouble.

This is not boest solution, but my solution was changing “permanent link” setting from “date & post name” to “post name”.

    You could fix it.

Thanks, dolpoong, adding that to my notes for settings for P2.
