    Hi there,

I think there is a problem with your plugin… If it is running and then I try to update or activate another plugin, the site becomes stuck at the page “updating, please wait… it may take some time” (or wording to that effect).
However the site is not in maintenance mode and if I just navigate to a different page the site works just fine and the plugin has been activated/updated.

If I deactivate your plugin then everything works just fine.

Also, with your plugin activated, despite it looks that gzip is working, Google PS Insights keeps urging me to “enable compression” ??
(I think Google PS is there to make you lose sleep and nothing else ?? )

    Any advice?

    My site is
    https://www.autosvezzamento.it

(your plugin at the moment is not active)

Thanks for the bug report. It might be an issue that the plugin activate functionality doesn’t like the compression. I’ll work on an update that the gzip will only be active on the frond-end!

I’ll let you know when I submit the new version.

    Thanks ??

I’ll stand by for the update. I know it would be easier to edit the htaccess directly, but I just… can’t be bothered right now ??

BTW, any idea why Google PS keeps asking for compression to be activated?

If I check your page it seems to have GZIP compression disabled: https://checkgzipcompression.com/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.autosvezzamento.it

Since it’s a small fix (if our plugin works ?? ) Google likes to have it turned on, because it saves 75% bandwidth (and thus makes your site considerable faster)

It is disabled now because of the bug ?? It was enabled before.

I thought it might be a caching problem, so I waited a few hours and tested different pages, but nothing.
