Hello blogchemistry,
Thank you for contacting WooCommerce support and letting us know about the critical error you’re experiencing when the WooCommerce plugin is activated.
The issue you’re facing could be due to a failed or broken plugin update, which can occasionally happen and cause a website to enter a critical error state. This is something we can work to rectify.
As a first step towards troubleshooting, if you haven’t already tried this, I recommend deleting the WooCommerce plugin and then installing it afresh.
Here are the steps to do so:
1. Delete the WooCommerce plugin from your WordPress Dashboard under Plugins.
2. Clear your site’s cache if you have any caching plugins or server-side caching active.
3. Reinstall WooCommerce by going to Plugins > Add New, search for WooCommerce, and install and activate it again.
Note: Deleting the WooCommerce plugin won’t remove your settings or data as they are stored safely in your database.
If the critical error persists after reinstalling don’t hesitate to let us know. We’re here to help you get back up and running smoothly. ??
Best regards.
