I’m trying to create a child theme of the Great theme in order to test out some changes. Is there a way to automatically include all of the “Great Theme Optimizations” customizations I’ve already made to the Great theme so I don’t have to go through all of that again? When I bring up my child theme, it defaults back to the default colors and headers.
    Thanks,
    Linda

  • Hi Linda,

Take a look at the following link: https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Child_Themes

Scroll down the page to the section Creating a Child Theme from a Modified Existing Theme. It sounds like what you’re looking for.

    Hope this helps,

    jgeist,
Thanks but that’s not it. I haven’t modified the existing theme. The existing theme includes a Customizer (which allows you to set header image, background color, etc) and I have customized it in this way…NOT by modifying code.

I was trying to find out if there was an easy way to quickly make these same customizations to the child theme. I found a plugin called Customizer Export/Import and was able to export and import these settings.

    Thanks,
    Linda
