Where are php files stored?

  • Hi,

    This might be a stupid question, but is there a place that your html/css/php files are stored? I didn’t create the website I’m working on so I don’t have the originals but need to edit a few things.

  • All files of a theme are stored within the wp-content/themes folder, with each theme being within a sub-folder named accordingly.

    What themesumo answered is correct. Alternatively you can use editor in your WordPress dashboard to edit your theme files.

    Appearance(in left menu bar) -> Editor -> Select File (You can see that in the right)

    I wouldn’t advise that you modify any PHP files using the WP editor, it’s not a capable code editor and will lead to problems.

    Use any text editor such as notepad (or notepad++) to safely modify PHP files.
