• My host runs Analog every day, and once in a while I take a peek at the reports.

I found the following mysterious file as having had one hit:
    https://www.kitty-carroll.org/lynjixswmysmp0.html

There are four others, with identical URIs except for the digit, 1 through 4 inclusive.

WP, I was reasonably sure, doesn’t produce this sort of static page. All these links lead back to the main page (index.php). Going back through the monthly report, I found a few others, plus two which allegedly linked to WMA files, none of which I have on the site, and which still bring up index.php. Where in the world are these coming from? (I have a second WP blog, at wendex.net; it has no such files.)

  • Are you using a plug-in to cache your blog? I really don’t know what generated those pages, however if I had to guess I would say its a plug-in or something of the sorts…

Like I always say wait for someone smarter then me to come around ??

That makes sense. I’m using wp-cache. Doesn’t quite explain the .wma extension, but caches, I imagine, don’t use PHP.

Well then I would defiantly say it’s a cache of your site.

Someone will probably come along and explain in better detail, to both of us
