• I just signed up for Google Adsense, and it is telling me to place some code that they provided into my website between the <header> and <body>. Where is this? Is it in my CSS Stylesheet? Is it on one of the other panels when I go to the theme control panel in WordPress?

I keep getting “site not verified” errors from Google, so I am obviously not placing the code in the right place. Help!!!!

Also, is there a widget that will just do all of this for me? Obviously I am an idiot with no programming experience. I’d love to put this on autopilot.

  • it is in the header.php of your theme

    That didn’t work.

Adsense wants me to put the code in my sites homepage. What page is the “homepage” in my WordPress theme page? Is that Header.php?

The specific instructions from Adsense are as follows:
“Copy the meta tag below, and paste it into your site’s home page. It should go in the <head> section, before the first <body> section”.

In very simple language, where is it asking me to put it. I tried Header.php, and it didn’t work. Should it go in the CSS Stylesheet? How about the Index.php or Page.php?

    Hi,

You can either put the verification code in header.php file of your theme or use this plugin:

    Thanks,
